Ted is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (CA#AMFT123405), receiving his Masters in Counseling Psychology at The Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. He has worked in community mental health, adolescent experiential therapeutic programs, school-based sites, and telehealth-oriented platforms.
With roots in the person-centered, psychodynamic and postmodern therapeutic traditions, Ted leans into his clients’ innate wisdom, exploring depths of their unique perspectives, worldviews, ethnocultural universe, and value structures to support a compassionate, working understanding of their ever-adapting Self. Sessions nurture curious, honest dialogues within, promoting a gentle symbiosis between conscious and unconscious processes and inviting deeper truths into their psycho-emotional periphery, working toward a grounded, authentic relationship dynamic with themselves and others. This interior work expands into larger, outsized aspects of life including present goals, future-planning, and community interactivity.
Ted regularly utilizes elements from Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Gestalt, Emotion-Focused, Attachment, Existential, Dialectical Behavior, Strengths-Focused, Trauma-Informed, Somatic Experiencing, Narrative, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy practices, supplementing sessions as needed with resources, tools and skills to support clients’ self-management of symptoms.
